CONGRATS CASTILLO FAMILY ON YOUR NEW BUSINESS!
Let's get you a logo setup. Here are my thoughts on the first wave....
Re: the name of the firm (Castillo Family Landscaping). You may not be interested in my opinion...and that's okay...but my goal is for your business to be successful and to that end, I have a few professional thoughts to share.
So that's my opinion. I will print whatever you want. But we'll swing the logo development both ways so you can decide. Let your BUSINESS ACUMEN drive your choice. Don't make it personal. vh
Re: the name of the firm (Castillo Family Landscaping). You may not be interested in my opinion...and that's okay...but my goal is for your business to be successful and to that end, I have a few professional thoughts to share.
- First: "Family" Landscaping. Unless it's a deliberate part of your 'brand,' your potential customers are not going to be interested in the 'family' part and might even find it off-putting. AND...as time goes on and your business grows, the family part of it might fade away or might lose its relevance. Every small business is a family business. It doesn't necessarily need to be part of the name. The consumer world has a very short attention span. When you tell them the name of your business, you have to make it short and sweet and make it a name that tells them WHAT YOU DO.
- Successful businesses solve someone else's problem. If a customer has a landscape problem...your role is to solve it. But your first role is to get their attention and earn their business. That means you want to use the NAME OF YOUR BUSINESS to tell the story...at a glance.
- The "Tree" symbol doesn't seem like a good fit to me, because trees are not your focus. If you put a tree on there, they will be asking you about pruning, etc. Trees are complicated. Better to stick to the basics in the logo. Once you build up, you can add various services. Develop a logo that focuses on what services will allow you to hit the ground running.
- "Family Landscaping" doesn't do that. Lawn & Landscape does. I call you. You fix my landscape. You mow my lawn.
So that's my opinion. I will print whatever you want. But we'll swing the logo development both ways so you can decide. Let your BUSINESS ACUMEN drive your choice. Don't make it personal. vh
